Building Pool Tables

by admin on May.21, 2010, under General

When I was sixteen years old I was struggling to keep out of trouble and get my life on track. I had dropped out of school and was heavily addicted to drugs and alcohol. When I finally decided to quit using and get things in order I really did not know where to start. My neighbors had a business of their own and offered me a job building pool tables. They knew my past and told me that it would help me to stay out of trouble. My first day there I remember being so nervous. They had every saw you could imagine and expected me to use them. I was afraid but did not show it, and when they asked me to use the saws I did what they said and got used to it. Before I knew it I became an expert on measurements, cutting angles, and using air tools. I loved my job. There were only five of us so we had to work extra hard to get the job done. Orders started getting bigger so we had to hire on more employees to get them out on time. I worked there for three years. My neighbors treated me like a daughter, and helped save me from jails, institutions, or even death. I will never forget them or the opportunity they gave me.
